Amid a vocational crisis and an addiction relapse, Mauricio decides to turn his back on the promise of fame, leave shows behind and travel to Argentina in search of inspiration. His main goal is to visit Atahualpa Yupanqui’s house or, more possibly, to run away from himself. And in the unlikely encounter between a Spanish rocker and the father of the Chacarera, between guitars and kettle drums, a transforming bond is forged between teacher and student. Inspired by the life of Mauricio Aznar, the well-remembered leader of the band Más Birras, and pierced by the present of one of the most important families in Argentine folklore, The Blue Star is a tribute to music’s overwhelming strength, to its capacity to overcome every barrier, even those that, supposedly, separate reality from fiction.
